Brief us about the birth of Jumpin Heights and its distinguishable aspects.

Jumpin Heights was founded in 2010 with the intention of showcasing global safety standards within the Indian landscape—something we were not known for. Not just was it about throwing the spotlight on the glorious geography that India is blessed with, but also about giving the youth something they could be proud of.

We brought in one of the world's most extreme sports-bungy jumping-which had before then never been practiced on a formal scale before, and positioned it to suit the Indian market, not just foreign tourists. In the last 12 years, we've operated over 1 lakh jumps absolutely safely in Rishikesh, and now in association with Goa Tourism, Jumpin Heights set up its second Bungy Zone over the stunning Mayem Lake, in North Goa.

Jumpin Heights Rishikesh offers the heart-pounding trio of bungy jumping, flying fox, and giant swing. The 83-meter-high Bungee jumping platform in India is located in Jumpin Heights, which is situated over the powerful Ganges and it is the highest in the country at present. Goa offers a Bungy over-the-lake experience.

With all options at the click of a button, what people desire from their money and time is in fact, a better experience. The travel industry has expanded to accommodate consumer changes by branching into experiential tourism of which adventure sports have been gaining tremendous attention in India. The adrenaline rush is a burst of excitement, a far cry from the mundanity of corporate, city lives. Bungy jumping in India allows for an age group from 12-45 for safety reasons and indeed the demand is almost uniform across that age span.

Living life on the edge awakens the inner child, strengthens the spirit of youth and holds the wisdom of the ages - it is indeed a powerful experience to be had. A lot of jumpers attribute their choice to wanting a unique experience that they can remember until they kick the bucket. Adventures could mean activities like bungy jumping, giant swing, flying fox, scuba diving and many more that push a person out of their comfort zones to gain an intense experience brimming with adrenaline.

As India's first and highest bungy jumping platform, our Rishikesh cantilever towers at a formidable height of 83 meters amidst the scenic Himalayan mountains. It is a novel way to engage with the landscape. We've always been a safety- first company, and that's our USP. As an industry leader, we wanted to set the bar high so India can also someday be known for our exceptional safety standards and organisational quality.

After having operated over 1 lakh jumps a landmark for adventure tourism in India, I think we are far closer to that dream now and have no intentions to stop. We urge people to go into these activities well informed so that people of all ages can enjoy these once-in-a-lifetime experiences safely.

How Jumpin Heights ensures the safety and security of travel enthusiasts?

Our safety standards are our pride and glory. We follow Australia and New Zealand safety standards for Bungy practices—since India didn't have any formal protocol before. We had them incorporated to form the Indian Standards of Bungy operations. We are run by ex-Army officers to ensure disciplined checks. We use a body harness in addition to the ankle harness, the maximum safety gear used globally.

Our jump masters have been trained extensively by experts from New Zealand and have operated over 1 lakh jumps, a record for adventure tourism for India. Our staff is trained in first aid as well as strict rescue operation drills. We have a doctor on call at all times.

What technologies are you using for different adventure sports at Jumpin Heights?

Technically qualified Jump Masters from New Zealand with years of expertise running these sports in the country that commercialised this sport have been consulted in creating our very own Jump Platforms. We make sure to have a highly skilled team, a high level of training, high-quality bungee cords, the best equipment and processes in place, a number of checks and counter checks, and extremely detailed inspection schedules.

Are you planning to expand in the coming future?

We are looking at expansion but it's too nascent yet to talk about.
